George Magan is Chairman of Carlton Capital Partners and Deputy
Chairman of Carlton Corporate Finance.
George is Chairman of Mallett plc and is a Director of Bank
of Ireland and a partner in Rhone Group LLC, a private equity
and investment banking business with offices in New York, London
and Paris. Founder & Chairman of Hambro Magan & Co. Ltd, George
became Chairman of NatWest Markets Corporate Finance upon the
sale of his firm to Nat West in 1996. He assisted in the
creation and separation of the firm to create Hawkpoint
Partners, where he was Chairman until 2001.
During the 1970s and 1980s George Magan was a Director of
Morgan Grenfell & Co. Throughout his distinguished City career,
George has led as advisor and/or originator of some landmark
corporate finance transactions, including Swiss Bank Corporation
– acquisition of SG Warburg; Ford Motor Co. – acquisition of
Jaguar; Vickers – acquisition of Rolls Royce Motors;
Rhône-Poulenc Rorer – acquisition of Fisons; BTR – acquisitions
of Thomas Tilling , Dunlop & Hawker Siddley; Asprey Group – sale
to Amedeo Holdings; Deutsche Bank – acquisition of Morgan
Grenfell.
